Since setting up the Library in July 2011 (first called Eastbourne Sling Library, then East Sussex Slings, before relocating to Hampshire and renaming as South East Slings) we have helped over 2000 different families (as at November 2019).  Here are a few of the lovely comments, testimonials and feedback we’ve received over the years.  Hearing such positive comments makes us very happy!

“I cannot recommend Roamy and the sling library enough!

My son has reflux and hates his car seat and pram so I quickly realised he’d be better off being carried. A friend of mine raved about her Ergo baby carrier so I initially hired this without seeing Roamy, but I didn’t find it that comfortable.

A month or so later (feeling trapped in the house because the baby hated every other method of transport!) I bumped into Roamy at the NCT nearly new sale and thought I might give the Ergo another try. When I explained that I found it uncomfortable, she said the Beco Gemini would probably be better for my frame so we hired that. We both absolutely loved it and bought one as soon as the hire period was up (an amazing deal, with the hire cost discounted and an additional 15% off for buying as a result of the nearly new sale). I’m not exaggerating when I say the carrier changed our lives! The baby is so happy in the carrier and doesn’t cry at all.

“When my daughter was 2 weeks old Roamy answered my desperate plea. My daughter hated her pram, car seat etc and had awful colic (which Roamy experienced in its glory during our consultation). Roamy came to my home and showed me a number of slings she was patient and kind and very knowledgeable. We ended up borrowing a hana wrap and it was a life saver. We looked at her you tube video countless times to try and get the fit right and we were away. myself and my husband both wearing our daughter. It was great for settling her during difficult times, going out and about and even cooking dinner and going to the loo. When my daughter was older and nosier we went back to see Roamy at a local NCT sale to inquire about a different carrier as my daughter wanted to start facing out. She helped us to decide on a beco which again was brilliant. I can’t recommend the sling library enough to anyone who mentions they have similar difficulty. “I saw Roamy for a 1-1 consultation after my 2nd Son was born. I first met her at a bumps and babies group locally and was very impressed with her selection of slings, knowledge and kindness. I wanted to experience sling wearing and because my Son was/is so demanding (wanted to be held constantly due to feeding/ illness/ teething) I thought this would be a great solution. 
The consultation was fantastic, Roamy made me feel very relaxed, calm and confident throughout the meeting. We tried different ones and she was very patient with my needs (I suffer a very bad back) and my Son who cried alot. I eventually settled on borrowing the Hana Baby wrap which was lovely, stretchy and very easy.

“Roamy recently came along to our playgroup and noticed me trying to run the ‘cafe’ whilst giving my nearly 3 year old the attention she wanted. Obviously I ended up holding her on one hip and doing a one handed coffee serve! So Roamy recommended a hip sling for when we were busy or when she was needy. It’s been really helpful for those tricky moments when two hands would be easier, I used it at a family party at the weekend too where I knew the number of adults and new faces would be just a bit too much for my daughter. “After having my first child and using a very uncomfortable non-ergonomic carrier, I had heard more and more about baby wearing/carrying and the wonderful world of slings. Having had baby no.2 I wanted to be able to carry her and still have my hands free for her older toddler sibling. I was recommended to see the ‘expert’ Roamy, who attends our local NCT bumps and babies group every two weeks. I was a bit apprehensive as I had no clue where to start. She gave me all the options of what to try, based on the ‘ideas’ I had, she listened to me implicitly. She very competantly showed me how they all fitted and got me to try them all myself. On the basis of this I made a hire and fell in love with my Beco Gemini. Even my husband will use it.
