The Beco Gemini is hugely popular at South East Slings – it fits so many body shapes and sizes and works well from newborn through to around 18 months for most babies. It can be used in 4 different positions (facing in, facing out, hip and back) but is still very straightforward to use.
I had a lovely surprise today, when getting a new carrier out to fit to a customer. They’ve made a few changes, which I LOVE, so I thought I’d share them with you here. The photos are all comparing two Beco Gemini Cool carriers, but the same changes will eventually be rolled out across the whole Beco Gemini range. Please note it will take a while for retailers to change over, depending on how regularly they update their stock.
Most of the Beco Gemini carriers we have for retail have the newest features on them. The listing now clearly states which carriers are the newer version, so there’s no confusion for customers.
1st (and 2nd) Change
The little push-y button clips have been changed! The one thing that some of our customers struggled with was pushing the button in while unclipping the buckle. This has now been changed to be a standard buckle clip which definitely makes things quicker and easier! The buckles have been changed both on the shoulder straps and on the waistband.
3rd and 4th Change
The shoulder straps now have 2-way adjustability. This means that – whether you’re wearing the carrier on your front or your back – you can always tighten by pulling forwards. Again, some customers found having to tighten the straps backwards more challenging, so this addition is very welcome! There’s also a nice bit of padding underneath where the buckle sits, making the carrier even more comfortable to wear.
4th Change
The clip that holds the straps across when done up rucksack style is now on runners, making it super quick and easy to adjust the positioning of it. This makes it so quick to adjust!
5th Change
The strap on this clip now has a handy elastic piece (the bit with the ‘Beco’ label), which helps you identify when the strap is the correct tightness. Really helpful to reassure new parents or those new to using carriers

So – what do you all think?
