There are 3 different types of Izmi Baby Carrier – the original Cotton, the Breeze and the new Essential
Lots of people ask me about the differences between them all so I thought I’d do a blog post going through the similarities and differences between the three
All three carriers are available via South East Slings – and all can be purchased on my try-before-you-buy scheme – so once you know which one you’d like, CLICK HERE to make your purchase
The table below compares the main features:

OVERVIEW
Other than the mesh panel, the Cotton and Breeze carriers have identical features. The mesh panel on the front gives a bit more breathability for very hot weather, or for babies and wearers who run very hot.
The Essential carrier is a stripped-back version of the Cotton carrier – removing additional extras that not everyone needs – in order to bring the price-point down to as low as possible, whilst still maintaining the comfort and benefits of the original Cotton and Breeze carriers.

SIMILARITIES
DESIGN: All three carriers have the same dimensions and overall design – with unpadded wrap straps, an adjustable width to the base (so the carrier grows as baby gets bigger), a lightweight waistband and integrated head support.
STRAPS: They all have dual-adjust shoulder straps, meaning the straps can be tightened by pulling forwards or backwards – whichever the wearer prefers. These straps are designed to cross over the wearer’s back.
AGE-RANGE: The three different carriers are all suitable from birth to walking and can be used for parent-facing, hip/side carry and (once baby is at the appropriate developmental stage) facing-outwards.

DIFFERENCES
MATERIAL: The Cotton and Breeze carriers are both made from 100% Cotton (the Breeze has a 100% Polyester mesh panel). The Essential is made from 100% Brushed Polyester.
BACK CARRYING: The Cotton and Breeze carriers can also be used for back carrying as they have a sternum strap included to hold the straps securely across your chest when carrying baby on your back (with the straps in a rucksack position). The Essential does not include the sternum strap as not all parents want to use the carrier on their back.
INFANT INSERT: The Cotton and Breeze carriers come with a detachable Infant Insert (which velcros into the waistband). This can be useful when using the carrier from birth and/or with lower birthweight babies. Not all babies need the insert (e.g. babies with a longer torso) and not everyone purchases their Izmi Carrier to use from birth, so the Essential does not include this option.
COTTON BAG: The Cotton and Breeze carriers come with a matching cotton bag, to store the baby carrier in when not in use. The Essential does not include the bag.
PRICE: The Cotton and Breeze carriers have a RRP of £80. The Essential has a RRP of £50.
